Jesus is our Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

I Peter 1:3

Now I am right with God, not because I followed the law, but because I believed in Christ. God uses my faith to make me right with him. I want to know Christ and the power that raised him from the dead...Then I have hope that I myself will be raised from the dead.

Philippians 3:9-11

Perhaps the heaviest burden we try to carry is the burden of mistakes and failures. What do you do with your failures?

Even if you’ve fallen, failed, and everyone has rejected you, Christ will not turn away from you. He came first and foremost to those who have no hope. He goes to those no one else would go to and says I’m here waiting for you, “I’ll give you eternity.”

Only you can surrender yourself and your concerns to the Father. No one else can do that for you. Only you can cast all your anxieties on the one who cares for you. What better way to start the new year than by surrendering your life and your cares at His feet?

Father in Heaven, help us as we cope and wrestle with yesterday’s failures. They cling to our ankles like fifteen-pound ball weights. Help us surrender our lives and release all our regrets to you, for you are waiting patiently for us, and are faithful and just to forgive.
