Maxine Ballinger

Maxine Ballinger (83) passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2005. Born in San Diego, she lived in the Akron area since 1966. Maxine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Melvin "Mel". She is survived by her four children, Jay, Linda Fiatal, Alan, Norman, and families.

Maxine was an active volunteer with Edwin Shaw Hospital, with over 17,000 hours, and also involved with the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Support Group for many years. She was a founding Board Member of the Ballinger TBI Clubhouse, where she was involved in all of the functions, working and helping in everyway she could.

Maxine has left us with affectionate memories of a person active and involved in life until the end. We will miss Maxine’s gentle and quiet spirit immensely.
